Town Council Approves Charter Revision
By a vote of 7-3 The Town Council Approves Charter Revision. Alvin O’Neil (D-2) Amy Wanamaker (D-6) and Emma Brooks (D-4) voted against opening the charter.
Chairman Henrick(R-10), Michael Julian (R-1), John Dempsey (R-5), William Stroomer (R-7), Tom Moore (R-8) and Joseph Kubic (R-9) and Gavin Forrester (D-3) voted for to appoint a new Commission to reviewing the charter.

As a resident of the 3rd… I’d like to personally thank you for putting partisan politics aside and actually (unlike three other council members) listening to the will of your constituents!!!

Thank you very much. I just can’t see denying citizens the right to petition their elected officals to address issues that they feel are important to them. One area of the Charter that I would like to see addressed is a section on Ethics. I was watching CNN today and there was a report that Local Governments have the largest amount of Ethics violations and currently we have the Mayor appointing the members to the Ethics Commission. I am concerned about the appearance of the commission being compromised.
